Bergedorf Volunteer Festival

12.07.2025 10:00 - 18:00

The Bergedorf Volunteer Festival Comes to the CCB
Find Volunteer Opportunities – Get Involved – Help Shape Bergedorf

On July 12, you’ll have the chance to meet nearly 30 exhibitors from nonprofit organizations. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., they’ll be available at various times and locations in and around the Center to talk with you. Those who are curious will find answers to their questions about how to volunteer in Bergedorf: from A for “daily companionship” to L for “reading tutoring” and M for “mentoring” to Z for “strengthening community and shaping the future.”

There’s plenty on offer, with plenty of opportunities to find a good fit based on your own interests and skills. There will also be face painting for kids, stilt theater, upcycled products, emergency vehicles on two and four wheels plus a rescue boat in the harbor, as well as information on funding opportunities for your own projects, and much more.

Anyone who’s ever wanted to talk to the social services department will have the chance to do so at 1:00 p.m. on the ground floor across from the train station.

Participants from Bergedorf’s clubs and initiatives look forward to seeing you all!

The Volunteer Fair
Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Location: City-Center Bergedorf, ground floor of the new building, forecourt, and along the Serrahn

The Volunteer Fair takes place every two years. The goal is to bring the topic of civic engagement to a well-frequented public space, provide a platform for local nonprofits, and, where possible, recruit new volunteers. The event also highlights local funding opportunities through STEB and the joint engagement fund “Geld für Gutes” in partnership with the district.

Founded in 2002 by Bergedorf residents as a contact point for volunteer work, the Volunteer Agency
has been operating successfully under the banner of STEB—the Foundation for Civic Engagement in Bergedorf—since June 2016. The Volunteer Agency advises those interested in finding the right volunteer opportunity and works closely with the district’s nonprofit organizations and associations. Since 2020, STEB and the Volunteer Agency, along with their partners—the Bergedorf District Office, the Bergedorf-Bille Foundation, the Buhck Foundation, the Körber Foundation, Sprungbrett e.V., and City-Center Bergedorf as part of the nationwide “Engagierte Stadt” network.
